Namibia's own property and home magazine

HouseFinder Magazine is a practical home-and-garden magazine - in print and online - that makes life easier for those who want to buy a home, build or make alterations, or try their hand at gardening and decorating. With 100% Namibian content, HouseFinder Magazine is a focused advertising medium for real-estate agents, developers as well as companies with property-related products and services.

From 2006 to 2010 the magazine underwent various changes and subsequently rebranded itself. It grew exponentially during this period and introduced a glamorous look with a sophisticated feel. From 2010 to 2015 the magazine established itself in the market and grew an average of 10 % per annum.

The current owners took over in mid-2019 with the aim to continuously ensure that HouseFinder Magazine remains the preferred coffee table Property Magazine for the Khomas and Erongo regions.

After the Covid-19 outbreak in March 2020, the publication dates were changed to every second month, whilst maintaining the glossy look. The print-run was increased to 7 000 copies per issue, the social media platform was increased by introducing Interactive Advertisements and an Instagram account was launched.

Publication Dates:

  • February/March
  • April/May
  • June/July
  • August/September
  • October/November
  • December/January

HouseFinder Magazine is 275 x 210 mm and printed on high quality paper. The design is done professionally, with an elegant look making it one of Namibia’s top-quality publications. The six bumper issues per year are ‘perfect’ bound to ensure a long shelf life.

Print run: 7 000 issues per edition (every 2nd month).

HouseFinder Magazine is available to the public free of charge in wooden HouseFinder stands, which are filled regularly. Distribution is done at 150 + outlets in Windhoek during a 6-week period and at more than 50 outlets at the Coast, including (but not limited to) architectural firms, restaurants, coffee shops, nurseries, retail outlets, selected consulting rooms, financial institutions, and real-estate agents.

The 2008 market survey pointed out the following:

  • The readers of HouseFinder are 40% male and 60% female.
  • HouseFinder has a diverse age group, and the majority is 30+.
  • The average HouseFinder reader is either a person interested in buying, renting or selling their property, or the homeowner with a vision to design or create a better lifestyle and wanting to stay up to speed with the market, ideas and trends.
  • Our readers’ diverse income ranges from N$8 000 to N$100 000 + per month.
  • Our readers’ LSM (living standard measurement) is 6 to 10.
  • Experience of the past 5 years has taught us that our readers are now captivated by the regular articles, and there is also more activity from readers online and on social media.

In addition to the printed magazine, we have our e-zine and website for easy reference. The e-zine enables people outside of the distribution areas to read the magazine.

The website was launched on 7 February 2007, and in 2014 the property search tool was included with a new look. The combination of the printed magazine and electronic distribution gives advertisers more than triple their exposure.

In August 2014 a new searchable database for agents as well as companies was added.

The new, live website was launched on 1 September 2019, depicting the new logo and upmarket property search option. The clicks jumped from 16 000 to over 30 000 within one month. The website currently attracts more than 40 000 clicks per month.

Articles are uploaded on a regular basis with links from our Facebook page.

Social media play a major role in advertising and promoting a business. We now invest extra time into this trend to offer our valuable clients more exposure and value addition for their advertising dollar.

Currently we have more than 14 500 (and rapidly growing) followers on our Facebook page.

We invest extra capital into the Facebook page to extend its reach and boost all adverts that feature in the printed magazine. This enables our customers to get more visibility for their advertisements and promotes the HouseFinder brand name. (We reach up to 27 000 views through a boosted Facebook advert on our platform.)

Corporate adverts are promoted on our Instagram page which launched in January 2020.
