A young lawyer's vacation home in Henties
A young lawyer's vacation home in Henties
THE PROJECT:Our client is a lawyer from Windhoek, who recently started building her vacation home in Henties Bay. It will be built on top of an existing house as the second storey. She requested renderings before building commences, so that they could visualize the space. The interior reflects her taste in décor, which should give a happy dopamine boost.

After
REQUIREMENTS:
- Interior theme: her dopamine décor
- A statement bath in the middle of the room, with an ocean view
- Make provision for a queen size bed
- Make sure there are enough cupboards for clothing
- Add a window to the reading nook
- Laminated wood flooring
- No budget restrictions.
SOLUTION:
- Three products from Hertex have been incorporated i.e. the queen size bed, the occasional chairs and the wallpaper behind the bed. Readers can purchase these from Spectiles by Megabuild. I used the Anderson Bed, queen size from Hertex with matching night stands.
- I designed a room filled with colours & patterns to bring about her dopamine rush. The green was given a warmer tone by adding some yellow – thus giving it a homelier feeling.
- The striking Hertex wallpaper (Dusk Stroll in Jade) brings character and a focal point to the room.
- I added shelves against the wall above the dressing table for books and décor elements and created a reading nook by the window, with a yellow floor lamp and added the Hertex Elena Chair.
- The bathroom interior ties in with the room interior, to make it flow seamlessly.
Cannot imagine a better life, laying back in that big, wonderful bath with a view of the ocean – it should really give a person a kick of dopamine!
