Arches in design at Okamita Properties

Arches in design at Okamita Properties

Introduction
If you haven’t noticed by now, arches are back in full swing, although they were first used in Mesopotamia and the Roman Empire. During the late Middle Ages the segmental arch was introduced, which had great value for bridges. Today we incorporate arches in pretty much everything.

You can use an arch for your fireplace, built-in shelves, windows, doorways, painted headboards, mirrors, bedding-patterns, ornaments, hanging shelves and so much more. One can always take something BIG from history and introduce it into our modern lives, making interior design special and exciting.

This Project
  • I recently had the opportunity to decorate a living room & bedroom at Osona Village, for Okamita Properties for their flagship house, the ELEGANT DIAMOND EXECUTIVE – portrayed here today.
  • What an exciting theme to use for decorations: arches! We see arches in the shops, and we even see it on our Instagram-, Facebook- and Pinterest feeds. I was inspired and ready to take on this challenge.
  • Main bedroom: The arch on the bedside table, the arch-print on the bedding & the rugs – all have arch designs obtained from local stores in Windhoek.
  • Living room: The arch-theme is incorporated in the pillow patterns & ornaments around the living room, such as the vases on the shelf and on the coffee table.

Small details make a big difference when you do interior design, and do not let a small budget hold you back. There is always a special or a deal if you look around!
