Bacon and cheese pinwheels
Bacon and cheese pinwheels
An old family favourite, you can’t go wrong with a crispy pinwheel. They are great as a snack with drinks or even a light lunch.Ingredients
- 1 sheet puff pastry, thawed
- 1 egg
- 1 tablespoon water
- 8 slices streaky bacon
- 1 small onion chopped
- 2 tablespoons mayonnaise
- 1 cup grated cheddar cheese
Method
- Heat oven to 200⁰ C. Grease a baking sheet well.
- Whisk egg and water in small bowl, set aside.
- Unfold pastry sheet on lightly floured surface. Brush with mayonnaise.
- Lay slices of bacon onto puff pastry.
- Sprinkle with cheese and chopped onion.
- Start at short side and roll tightly into a log shape. You can start on the long side and roll, this way you will get smaller snack size pinweels.
- Cut into 16-18 slices.
- Lay flat on baking sheet. Brush with egg mixture.
- Bake for 15-20 minutes or until golden brown.
- Serve and enjoy!
