Braaibroodjies for Dessert
This is a very easy camping dessert. Make sure to grab one before you put them out for your guests because these are guaranteed to fly. They are simply irresistible!Banoffee Braaibroodjies
- 16 slices white or brown bread
- Butter
- 8 Tbs Caramel Treat
- 8 Tbs mascarpone cream
- ¼ tsp cinnamon
- 4 fresh bananas
Smores Braaibroodjies
- 16 slices white or brown bread
- Butter
- 8 Tbs Nutella
- 8 Tbs mascarpone cream
- 150 g Mini Marshmallows
- 100 g fresh raspberries
- Lay the bread slices open in pairs.
- Spread the one side with Caramel Treat.
- Spread the other side with mascarpone.
- Slice the bananas diagonally and layer on the caramel slice.
- Dust lightly with cinnamon.
- Close the slices and butter the outsides lightly.
- Place the broodjies in a grid and hand over to a capable braaier.
- Place over not-too-hot coals and braai until crisp on the outside.
For the Smores Braaibroodjies
- Lay the bread slices open in pairs.
- Spread the one side lightly with Nutella.
- Spread the other side with mascarpone.
- Place the mini marshmallows and fresh raspberries on one side.
- Close the slices and butter the outsides lightly.
- Place the broodjies in a grid and hand over to a capable braaier.
- Place over not-too-hot coals and braai until crisp on the outside and the marshmallows have melted.
