Cheesy garlic breadsticks

Cheesy garlic breadsticks

This is a wonderful recipe for springtime snacks. Delicious served with fresh dips like tazatziki, but also good just on its own. Enjoy!

  • 2 cups white bread flour
  • 1 ½ teaspoons garlic salt
  • 1 teaspoon white sugar
  • 1 - ½ teaspoons dry active yeast
  • ¾ 1 cup lukewarm water
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 4 tablespoons salted butter
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning (Ina Paarman Olive & Rosemary one is great)
  • 2 cups grated mozzarella
  • ½ - 1 tablespoon parmesan cheese
  • parsley for garnish

  1. In a medium sized bowl, whisk together flour, garlic salt, sugar, yeast and slowly add in water.
  2. Mix together until dough is created.
  3. Using your hands knead for one minute and form a ball. (or you can cheat and put it in the machine).
  4. Spread 1 tablespoon of olive oil in a separate bowl and transfer pizza dough to that bowl. Cover with a paper towel for 1 hour or until dough has doubled.
  5. Preheat oven to 190°C.
  6. Roll out dough on your baking sheet.

  7. Add butter, garlic powder and Italian seasoning to a small bowl and microwave until melted. Whisk together then brush on dough.
  8. Next sprinkle dough with grated mozzarella cheese then parmesan cheese.
  9. Lastly, sprinkle with parsley.
  10. Bake for 15-17 minutes or until dough has browned and cheese is melted and golden.
  11. Cut bread into sticks and serve with dips.
