Create fusion with OBECO - Mixing tile styles
Fusion means merging or mixing and in design this means the “combination of the incompatible”: different contradictory styles forming a holistic, harmonious space. The trend became popular in the 1980s, as a spin-off of anti-establishment sentiment. It is most evident in the textures, colours and materials used.Think about fusion in design as you would think about fusion in cuisine: A dish that combines elements of different culinary traditions that originate from different countries, regions, or cultures. Just like combining boerewors and German sauerkraut.
In the context of selecting tiles, it is however more than just selecting contrasting products: it is also the way you merge other décor elements with your final tile choice. At Obeco, there is always fun to be had when you pack your own mood board and try your hand at mixing styles to fit your and your home’s personality.
The Infusion series by Rondine, depicted on the front cover, is a fusion of wood and concrete on its own. This collection was inspired by the chic industrial style that can be used in several environments, from the most modern to the most classic. Nut, Oak and Birch are the colours the tiles come in.
Mixing flooring types can add depth and interest to any space, but it's important to take the time to select the right colours and textures to create your look. Bring your fabrics or ornaments from home to ensure you make the perfect tile choice.
Combining the unexpected makes Fusion so delightful!
