Welcome renowned international furniture brands to the heart of your homeThe Officeconomix Group is thrilled to announce the acquisition of distribution rights for the Wheco Group in Namibia. The most exciting aspect of this development is taking on the role of brand operator for Cielo and Incanda, two of the most well-known and admired furniture brands in South Africa.
Since their inception in 2007, Cielo has evolved into the leading player within South Africa’s online and retail furniture market. More recently, Cielo broke new ground as it expanded its offering to the United Kingdom and Mauritius. Incanda has created another home-grown success story, with a strong focus on local products and production. Having gone from strength to strength, the two brands collectively operate 25 retail stores throughout South Africa.
According to Paul Oosthuizen, CEO of Officeconomix Group, they realised the lack of variety in Namibia’s domestic furniture market. “If you want to be a major player, you must be able to import the latest in furniture from all over the world on a regular basis. Unfortunately, the Namibian economy is too small to sustain this, so I decided to reach out to Cielo. I’ve always believed in synergy and fusion, and within a few weeks the agreement was signed.
The Cielo Windhoek team
Step into Cielo’s world of inspiring success
We immediately started revamping our existing showroom to align with Cielo’s sophisticated standards, and I am proud and grateful to be in full operation since October”, Oosthuizen said.
Cielo imports their trendsetting furniture and decor from all over the world, while Incanda’s speciality lies in the local manufacturing of classic and conventional designs. This means we are able to offer our clients the best of both worlds. The Wheco Group’s portfolio also includes esteemed sub-brands like Nouvelle Cookware and Visco Pedic mattresses, all of which are available at the Design Hub.
When asked about their expansion into Namibia, Werner Greeff, Director at Wheco Holdings, was confident about the move. “Expanding into Namibia has been a long-standing goal for us. After connecting with Officeconomix and visiting Windhoek to gain insight into their operations, infrastructure, and the team behind the business, we felt confident that we had found the right partner. Their new Design Hub complex provides an ideal location to bring the Cielo and Incanda brands to Windhoek. We’re pleased to partner with Officeconomix and look forward to our brands’ impact on the Namibian furniture market”, Greeff concluded.
