Do it for the dopamine
Imagine transforming a simple wooden item into a vibrant piece of art that radiates joy and sparks a little dopamine rush every time you see it!In this fun and colourful DIY project, you'll gather a few basic supplies, mark, paint and embellish. Just let your creativity flow!
SUPPLIES
- Wood item
- Craft paint
- Paint brushes
- Rollerball markers
- Embellishments (optional)
Step 1
If item has been previously painted, slightly sand with 320 grit sandpaper and wipe off excess dust with a damp cloth.
1.a) Start with drawing the basic lines for the main colours, i.e. the dividing lines between the green/pink/blue colours of the fish.
1.b) Apply 2 layers of paint – wait for the first layer to dry completely before applying a second layer.
Step 2
Then find some interesting ideas for patterns online or in your favourite craft book.
Mark your pattern and paint – I used rollerball markers for dots, but skewers or any round, flat object can also be used; or embellish your item.
Let dry completely and display it in your favourite spot.
