What is the purpose of fibre internet at home?

How does fibre connect to your house?
A home pass and connectivity are required for fibre to enter your home. An MTC-approved contractor will consult with you regarding the most efficient and fastest route from the street to your residence.

How is fibre installed?
After the home pass is completed and during the appointment, a technician will proceed with the installation of a small optical network terminal (ONT) inside your home. The ONT will be connected to MTC's fibre network adjacent to the street level of your home via fibre optical cable.

How long does it take to install fibre?
Once the home pass is completed and the fibre is activated, our trained technicians will need an hour at most to activate the ONT inside your house and to set up your profile. The ONT/router is a device which makes wireless internet available throughout your house.

Is fibre expensive?
MTC offers fibre services against the same subscription as the Spectra Home services with the option to upgrade to a maximum speed of 75Mbps, best of all, packages on 24 and 36 months enjoy free installation.
