Florencia Tjiurikouje Kavendjii - JIREH REAL ESTATE
INTRODUCTIONWelcome to our exclusive interview with sought-after realtor Florencia Tjiurikouje Kavendjii.
She is the owner and founder of Jireh Real Estate, and a go-getter businesswoman with a passion to help people make smart real estate decisions. Florencia is an award-winning property practitioner and has studied business administration. She successfully completed her Estate Agent exam in 2004. With her qualification and experience, she worked as a Home Loan Consultant at First National Bank Namibia. FNB later promoted her to External Real Estate Consultant over a 15-year period. Through the years, real estate became a passion, and she set herself a long-term goal to establish a real estate company in Namibia. This goal was realised in 2014.
How did you choose the name of your agency and what does it mean?
The name is Hebrew, meaning The Lord Will Provide. (Genesis 22:14). It just made sense for me to name my company JIREH, as God is, has, will always be my constant Provider.
In your experience, how important is an agency’s branding?
Branding is so personal, and it should include the 5 c’s: Clarity, content, communication, creativity and community. A good realtor logo graphic is one that represents the company.
What is the best way to draw the attention of potential buyers?
Be accessible, use testimonials, be patient, develop a content strategy. Everyone wants to feel valuable and appreciated.
What is the most important advice you would give to anyone wishing to become an estate agent?
Kindly understand that the real estate industry is a highly professional industry, it’s a career not a part-time job for people looking for quick cash. Once you get that right, you can make a reputable career out of it.
Is there a difference in the property arena before Covid and after Covid?
There is no doubt that the world will never be the same again; we do things differently now. Lots of virtual tours, WhatsApp and email consultations. We have learned to be stricter with our time management.
Which was your best year so far and why?
My best year was 2023, when I had the opportunity to attend the International Property Show (IPS) in Dubai. I was exposed to the Dubai real estate market and also got the opportunity to meet their award-winning real estate agencies in the UAE. Thanks to their insights, advice and networking, I was able to gain much knowledge about the Middle East real estate and beyond. The world is changing and it’s developing at an unbelievable pace. One can learn from their world class regulatory and administrative work as well as their professionalism and their best global practices.
