Heal your home with Spring & Summer scents

With blooming flowers and warmer days, spring signals renewal. The scents of the season can energize and uplift us.

Frankincense Its earthy, resinous scent may foster a sense of grounding and tranquility.

Ylang Ylang This essential oil is valued for its floral aroma and uplifting effects.

Bergamot An essential oil to relieve stress, anxiety and depression.

Bring the freshness of Spring into your home with this easy DIY room spray — it’s like bottling sunshine and blossoms!

Tranquillity room spray

  • 12 drops Bergamot essential oil 3 drops Ylang Ylang essential oil
  • 6 drops Frankincense essential oil

  • 45 ml of distilled water

  • 5 ml of high proof alcohol (such as Vodka/denatured alcohol)

Combine the essential oils and high proof alcohol in a spray bottle. Add the distilled water and shake well to combine. Spray the room to encourage calm and emotional balance.

The additional sunlight and warmer temperatures of summer introduce certain changes. Fortunately, several essential oils are available that can offer support during this season.

Lavender This oil is commonly used for relaxation after busy summer days.

Peppermint Research indicates that diffusing peppermint on a warm day may help create the perception of a cooler environment.

Lime This essential oil smells like summer! It has a wonderfully refreshing and stimulating aroma.

Citronella Summer isn’t complete without a little citronella in the air to deter bugs.


Carpet freshener

Use this carpet freshener to bring the scent of Summer indoors:

  • 15 drops of essential oil

  • 1 cup baking soda

Pour baking soda into a glass jar and add oils such as lime & peppermint. Sprinkle on carpet and let sit at least 15 minutes or overnight, then vacuum.

Careful experimentation with oils such as these to bring upliftment during Spring and Summer will buoy your spirit and refresh your home.
