Incorporate Fusion in a Gaming Room

Incorporate Fusion in a Gaming Room

THE PROJECT

Our client wants to design a teenage boy’s room with the theme GAMING, and what better chance to incorporate Fusion into this area. I decided to combine Modern and Neo-Retro to create this stunning, upmarket look.

SOLUTION

Colour palette:
I chose a colour palette that reflects both modern and neo-retro vibes: Neon colours such as reds and oranges and pinks in stark contrast with the greys and whites.

Furniture:
The bed is sleek and modern with modern side tables. The statement pieces are a retro, checkered ottoman and also a leaf-shaped day seat. The desk is modern and the hexagon hanging shelf adds to the retro feel.
Wood panelling in bright neon colours attached to the wall create an upbeat focal point.

Wall Décor:
I added a LED gaming name above the bed and an iconic wallpaper of a retro car scene, with strip lights.

Textiles
Modern bedding is used next to a patterned ottoman to create perfect fusion.

Flooring
I chose a tiled wood-look floor for a modern feel.

TIPS WHEN DESIGING A GAMING ROOM:
Hide modern technology like TVs and gaming consoles behind retro-style cabinets or screens when not in use, to maintain the aesthetic harmony.

Encourage your teenager to get involved in the design process by creating DIY projects that blend modern and retro elements, such as customizing furniture with unique finishes or creating their own wall art.
