It’s autumn!

It’s autumn!

Liewe Leser

Dis herfs!

Dear Reader

Ah, it’s autumn! I find it a captivating time of year. There’s a nip in the air, a sure sign of the season changing as if Mother Nature is getting ready for her slow winter slumber. It’s as if something is telling us to unwind, take life slowly and sleep a bit longer. With all the drastic changes in the world and the many obstacles facing mankind, I’m sure most readers would agree with me: We need to back-pedal or step on the brake.
In this edition we focus on safety and security in and around the home. And here mothers play a huge role, not so? Mothers who want to protect their children from damaging viruses and ensure that they all enjoy a good night’s sleep. Fittingly, Christine has blended the security theme with Mothers’ Day in her theme article – be sure to read it.

If you have some extra bucks to spend, do look at the unique products for home and pool offered by many of our advertisers. My wish for all of us: be safe and live in peace – and do make time to enjoy the unique and picturesque Namibian autumn scenes.

Our Theme: Safety and Security

Since Covid-19 became part of our lives, many of us have gone through life more fearful than before – anxious about things that have not been part of our lives prior the outbreak of the coronavirus. What does feeling safe mean to you? Or has the meaning of being safe taken on a whole different meaning for you? Maybe you have not felt the reassurance of being safe since childhood and maybe you now feel unsafe in public spaces. Nonetheless, I think we live in a new world where Safety and Security is something we simply cannot neglect. Rather safe than sorry.

KEEP IN MIND:
“In peace I will lie down and sleep, for you alone, Lord, make me dwell in safety. (Psalm 4:8) (NIV).
