Contented lives
Contented lives
Liewe Leser
Dear Reader
Living contented lives each day, seeped in thankfulness, is an artful skill we should be teaching our children and grandchildren. Unfortunately, moaning and groaning is second nature to us all, so trying to live grateful lives daily will need a focused mindshift towards serenity.
A good start to any day is to rise and purposefully concentrate on the early bird song. Spend your days tuned in to nature, appreciating the beauty of sunrises and taking a fresh look at the plants and animals around you.
And at night, with the moon shining and the Sandman starting his rounds, wouldn’t it be best to put off all our devices, tune out the noise of everyday life and reflect on each and everything in our day we could be thankful for?
This Festive Season and beyond into 2020, let us portray a life of gratitude. And may we experience how this mindset becomes entrenched in our way of life and the lives of our loved ones.
Keep in mind: “Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows.”
(James 1:17) (NIV).
“You simply will not be the same person two months from now after consciously giving thanks each day for the abundance that exists in your life. And you will have set in motion an ancient spiritual law: the more you have and are grateful for, the more will be given you.” Sarah Ban Breathnack, Simple Abundance: A Daybook of Comfort and Joy.
