Barter with your talents
Barter with your talents
Dear Reader
By the time this magazine hits the streets, we should have a pretty good idea of what the rainy season is up to this year. But as we Namibians already know, there are cycles of droughts that come and go and we must be prepared for the inevitable next drought, either this year or in the future. If recession and bad markets loom on the horizon like threatening storm clouds at the beginning of this new year, remind yourself to stay super focused.
Warren Buffet said in 2022 that the best thing you can do is to be exceptionally good at something, so that people can give you something of what they produce in return for what you deliver. In other words, barter with your talents – they are recession-resistant.
So, do invest in yourself by putting your eggs in more than one basket – diversify. Real estate has always been one place where you can’t go wrong with investments and remember, as I’ve been saying all these years, there is one golden rule before you buy: location, location, location.
KEEP IN MIND:
“But ask the animals, and they will teach you, or the birds in the sky, and they will tell you; or speak to the earth, and it will teach you, or let the fish in the sea inform you.
Which of all these does not know that the hand of the Lord has done this? In His hand is the life of every creature and the breath of all mankind."
Job 12:7-10 (NIV)
