Curveball

Curveball

Liewe Leser

Dit was dan so vinnig?!
See no evil.

Dear Reader

Some of us like planning our day, week or month ahead. We like the structure and direction this gives us to help reach our planned outcomes. But then life sends a curve ball. The kind of ball you did not see coming and did not expect. Wow, that was quick!? But you feel the impact and now you have major trauma on your hands.
How will you play this new game called ‘life’ once the ball has hit you? If you think that everyone will pitch in, with sleeves rolled up and ready to manage the crisis at hand, think again. Some people will pull their caps even lower over their eyes and continue munching their homemade banana bread. See no evil. A second group, also intimately feeling the effect of the curve ball and noticing the change that is happening, will delay and merely hope someone else will do something. Just not them. Do you want to be either of those? Or will YOU step up to the plate and make the difference – will you be the calm one within the new normal? The one with the helping hand, eyes firmly on reality, taking action? Let’s embrace this change, whether it’s a curve ball or not!

KEEP IN MIND:
“Fear the LORD, you his holy people, for those who fear him lack nothing. The lions may grow weak and hungry, but those who seek the LORD lack no good thing.”
(Psalm 34:9,10) (NIV).

Our Theme: Circles and Curves

Have you ever wondered how to use circles and curved shapes in your house or garden design to create a sense of free movement? According to www.authenticinterior.com the possibilities are endless – from rounded corner sofas to round dining tables. Also read Christine’s tips in our Garden Focus and Theme page this month. Another addition to HouseFinder is our Interior Designer’s suggestion for a lucky reader on p. 35. Do you have an issue with a room and need our tips and ideas? Send your request to [email protected] – perhaps your dilemma will be addressed for free and be published in our next edition.

“Understanding the person or people living in a home is a far greater need in design than focusing purely on the aesthetics. The home is designed around emotional needs.”
