Create every day

Create every day

Liewe Leser

Probeer gerus jou eie groentetuin, plant ‘n boom, verf ‘n ou kas nuut of versier ‘n koek.

Viva handgemaak!

Dear Reader

Mom believed that one should do something creative every day and that creativity is the best antidote to feeling down. She often set a good example: When we were small (and Christmas trees were tall) she did macramé and decoupage.
Later gardening and fabric fantasies took over.
I firmly agree that we should alternate the monotony of office life with a creative activity – something to stimulate us and add some oomph. How about trying your own veggie garden, planting a tree, painting an old chest of drawers or icing a cake? The possibilities are endless. Don’t allow your creativity to be stifled.

“Create! Create!
I feel the winds of fury
Blowing through me.
Even my bones are smiling.
I hear my veins pulsing with
Desire, like branches
Dancing in the breezes.
Wildflowers are waving and
The ocean blossoms with a new idea.
Crazy and beautiful is
How I want my life to feel.”

KEEP IN MIND:
“He has filled them with skill to do all kinds of work as engravers, designers, embroiderers in blue, purple and scarlet yarn and fine linen, and weavers - all of them skilled workers and designers.” (Exodus 35:35) (NIV).
