MTC Spectra evolves to offer sustainable connectivity
Over the past 18 months, the Covid-19 pandemic with all the lockdown regulations forced businesses, educational institutions, government institutions and households to be innovative and inventive to ensure a sense of normality during this challenging time. Very quickly, the world adopted and adapted to an online presence as an alternative to lockdown isolation.
In this period, ensuring contact between customers meant that the demand for sustainable and affordable internet connectivity in Namibia more than doubled.
Since February 2020, MTC has aggressively started enlarging its Spectra footprint in Windhoek and the North. A month later, after the first lockdown regulations were announced, the demand for this popular product soared and soon areas like Elisenheim, Omeya, Osona Village and Okahandja followed.
With a well-defined national transmission infrastructure, MTC was quick to answer the call of the rest of the country and today MTC is proud of the Spectra footprint that spans from Katima and Rundu in the north-east to Opuwo and Outapi in the north-west, at the coast Walvis Bay and Swakopmund are covered and the newest additions to be welcomed to Spectra are Aranos in the south and the Neudamm Campus east of the capital.
