Ongos Valley - Changing the face of Windhoek’s residential landscape
The Ongos Valley Development Project was born out of an idea to provide sustainable housing solutions to Namibia’s ever-increasing urban population. The project aims to construct around 28 000 housing units over an estimated 30 years and provide access to basic services for the surrounding disadvantaged communities.This project will see a total of N$4.3 billion invested in our economy and the creation of 14 000 job opportunities. Ongos Valley will integrate various renewable energy technologies into its infrastructure, thereby creating a proverbial “smart, green city”. Quality of life and sustainable development are the focus.
This project will be a cornerstone of economic and social revival, providing a housing product for an often-marginalized consumer segment.
We have progressed extensively in our development plan and are currently in the final stages of bulk road and civil infrastructure installations, and the first homes will be completed during June/July. Our state-of-the-art wastewater treatment plant is complete and construction on our new water reservoir is at an advanced stage.
Ongos Valley will be developed across 7 phases over the next 30 years. There are currently twelve designs that homeowners can choose from – either apartments, sectional titles or single residential options.
Our sectional title townhouses are unique in that they are freestanding and double storey. Certain units come with pre-approved future extension plans, saving homeowners time and money when they want to extend.
All sectional titles will be installed with prepaid water and electricity meters as well as a 1GB free fibre Wi-Fi connection. This can be topped up, via a pay-as-you-go system.
Ongos Valley will be a gated community, surrounded by an electrified scale-proof ClearVu fence around the entire estate supported by foot and bicycle patrols within and around the perimeter. There will also be 24/7 CCTV cameras at strategic points to provide an overlapping security network for peace of mind of all residents.
Potential homeowners can choose their bathroom fittings, wall and floor tiles, kitchen tops and floors at the Ongos Valley Sales Hub situated at the corner of Kreuzburg & Andes streets, Eros (behind Novel Ford).
The Ongos Valley Sales Hub is open six days a week, Monday to Friday, from 08:00 till 17:00 and Saturdays from 09:00 to13:00.
