Upside Hanger Side Table
Upside Hanger Side Table
Build an upside hangar side table with steps by Lindie Loock.I am a big fan of upcycling and repurposing, hence I never throw anything away!
WHAT YOU WILL NEED
- 4 wooden hangers
- 12 screws
- Drill
- Paint brushes
- Paint (I used chalk paint, but PVA or oilbased will also do)
- Builder’s hook
- Glazecoat (optional)
- Spirit level
- 2x wooden planks 47 x 30cm
Step 1
Clean the wooden planks with a damp cloth to get rid of any dust.
Paint two coats on both sides, making sure itdries between coats.

Step 2
Apply a layer of Glazecoat (I prefer to include this step, especially with PVA or Chalk paint, to protect the surface).

Step 3
If you are using Supawood, pre-drill holes for the screws to prevent it from splitting.
Attach the hangers to the planks (you will need an extra pair of hands here!)
I used a spirit level and builder’s hook to ensure the shelves are level and at a 90° angle.

RESULT
Keep in mind that this is not a very strong table, so refrain from putting heavy objects on it.
Bonus:
Since I love upcycling, I made jewelry storage from the hooks I removed from the hangers, using the off cuts from the shelves.

Follow Steps 1 and 2 for painting, measure the distance for the hooks, drill small holes and insert the hooks with No More Nails glue.
