Wooden wall collage

Wooden wall collage

Personalize your space by creating meaningful artwork to adorn your walls.

Every detail tells your story.

WHAT YOU WILL NEED

  • Offcut pieces of wood
  • Paint
  • Paint brushes
  • White glue
  • Heat gun and glue
  • Scrapbook paper
  • Stamps and ink pads
  • Embellishments like ribbon, paper/wood cut-outs, stickers and small pegs in colour and theme of your choice
  • 2 beads
  • String
  • 2 screw-in hooks

STEP 1

Cut your wood planks to desired size.
I cut six pieces
of 15 x 8 cm each.

Lay them out in 2 rows of 3 and paint them different colours.
Cut scrapbook paper to size of wood blocks and glue in place.

STEP 2

Lay out your different embellishments and overlap them on other blocks too, to create unity.
Add some depth by applying embellishments on top of each other and let some overhang from the edge.

To help you remember, take a picture or set out the embellishments on your work surface in the same order.

STEP 3

With the heat gun, glue the two rows of wood blocks (3 down) so that you have 2 pieces consisting of 3 blocks.
Stamp some images onto the block

STEP 4

Use the heat gun to glue the 2 rows together, taking care to align the blocks.
Refer to your
reminder and glue the embellishments onto the various blocks.

STEP 5

Mark the centre of the 2 top blocks (7,5 cm from the edge) and screw in the hooks.
Measure the length of the string and add some extra centimetres to accommodate the knots.
Thread through the bead and the hook; make a double knot to prevent the thread from slipping through the bead’s hole.

FINAL

Show off your collage!
