Letter from the Editor
Textural minimalism with a natural edge

Dear Reader
It’s October… how is that possible? Surely it was January just the other day? I don’t know if you feel the same way, but time flies too fast.

Someone was talking about their December plans this morning and I realised I should have started thinking about this earlier. Plus, the retailers will start playing Christmas songs soon. And then it’s the countdown to the end of 2026.

But much water must pass under the bridge before we can think about Christmas, holidays and gifts…

It feels like yesterday since we moved into this house, but it was 18 years ago! Eighteen years ago my son, who is currently at university, was only 4 years old. He and his sisters took turns enjoying the slip-and-slide on the lawn. We got Jessie, our Jack Russell, that year. That was the year of my husband’s big 40th birthday party and also the year that my Grandma Gerty was with us for Christmas.

Since then, we have lost four close family members. Who would have thought they would so soon exchange the temporary for the eternal.

As you reflect on your past year and all that remains to be done before the Christmas lights twinkle, make sure you cherish the beautiful memories that have been made in your home and with your loved ones. That is the beauty of a legacy.

Liewe Leser

Agtien jaar terug was my universiteitseun net 4 jaar oud.

OUR THEME - TEXTURAL MINIMALISM WITH A NATURAL EDGE
Sprucing up one’s decor brings a breath of fresh air, like a catchy tune that leads to an impromptu dance. Did you know? Enhancing your sanctuary initiates a complex neurological response because all four happy hormones are hit: Dopamine, serotonin, endorphins and oxytocin. Textured Minimalism anchors the home with its natural materials that can be touched and the organic forms which bring flow and softness. The textured elements add interest and personality. The end result? A happy hit.

KEEP IN MIND:
"Proverbs 27: 1: “Do not boast about tomorrow, for you do not know what a day may bring," (The Bible) (NIV)
