There's
no better way to start your morning than with a bowl of homemade muesli.
I
often fiddle around with the recipe and make changes like replacing the wheat
germ with a mixture of green pumpkin seeds and linseeds.
Remember that this
recipe has a nasty way of burning in front of your eyes, so be sure to watch it
closely!
Preheat the oven to 140 °C.
Combine the oats, bran, coconut and
wheat germ, sesame seeds, sunflower seeds and almonds in a large roasting dish,
tossing until well distributed.
Combine the oil and honey in a small
saucepan and heat gently until the mixture is runny.
Pour over the muesli and mix in gently.
Bake uncovered for about 60 minutes
until golden, stirring every 10 minutes or so.
Allow to cool and add the dried fruit.
Serve with plain yoghurt and honey.
